Alan Beaver

Alan “Butch” Gilmore Beaver was born on October 2, 1949 to Florence (Gable) and Gilmore Beaver in Rolette, North Dakota. He died at the age of 76 years on Monday, March 9, 2026 at his home in Rugby, North Dakota.

Alan was raised with his brother, Roland and his sister, Sandra. After he graduated from high school, Alan attended the Bottineau School of Forestry (now DCB) and studied accounting. Alan moved to Minnesota and worked road construction for C.S. McCrossan for 44 years until he retired. Alan married Linda Dissette in 1971, together, they had three children, Nicole, Andrea and Travis. He enjoyed attending his son’s basketball games every winter and continued that love of sports watching his grandchildren in football, basketball and baseball as they grew up. After he retired, Alan spent his time going out for coffee in the morning and playing cards in the afternoon. Alan will be missed by his family and friends.

Alan is survived by his children, Nicole (David) Schneibel of Rugby and their sons, DJ, Cole, Brody, Austin and Zackary; Andrea Beaver of Rugby and her children, Gentry and Babby; and Travis (Christie) Bevan of Seattle, Washington and their children, Logan and Ashlyn; his sister, Sandra Trulock of Renton, Washington; multiple sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda; his brother and his parents.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart of America Library as Alan was an avid reader and always had a book or newspaper near by.
