Randy Gordon Greig, the son of Gordon and Bernice (Harmel) Greig was born on November 1, 1957 in Rugby, North Dakota. He passed away with his family by his side on Friday, January 2, 2026 at the Heart of America Medical Center in Rugby, North Dakota.

Randy grew up on the family farm east of Rugby in Pleasant Lake. He was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Rugby and attended school in Pleasant Lake with his sister Michele until transferring to school in Rugby. He graduated from Rugby High School, the class of 1976. Randy entered the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in 1986. Randy loved to cook, he ran York Café and Big T’s Diner in Towner for a short time and also cooked at Bob’s Pizza in Rugby and Devils Lake. He began working at Arco gas station as assistant manager for several years until his retirement. Randy loved to travel, but didn’t get the chance to go as much as he would have liked. He enjoyed going to concerts, playing guitar, singing songs and loved his classic vehicles as a young adult. He Loved Elvis and was fortunate to have attended Elvis’s last concert. In his spare time, he enjoyed making his famous cabbage rolls for his brother-in-law, Todd, enjoyed visiting and having a beer in the afternoons at I.C. Dubbles. He was a quiet, humble man with a kind soul and heart of gold who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Randy is survived by his sister, Sandi (Todd) Munyer of Rugby; brother, Jeff Greig of Rugby; nieces and nephews, Cody (Kayla) Goetz, Tanner (Kelsey) Goetz, Jason (DelRay) Goetz, Ashlynn (Colton) Starr, Kris (Roshana) Allred, Michael (April) Allred, Jennifer Hughes, Colin (Heather) Engel, Nathan (Susanna) Engel and Amanda (Tyler) Ohlson; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Bernice; sister, Michele Engel; 2 siblings in infancy and his grandparents, Henry and Selma Harmel and Maurice and Ellen Greig.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31st at Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby with fellowship to follow at I.C. Dubbles. Burial will take place in the spring at the Persilla Watts Cemetery in Rugby.
