Tioga

Louise Hazel Knudson, 85, of Tioga passed away Friday, July 25, 2025, at Tioga LTC surrounded by her loving family. Louise Hazel Michels was born January 30, 1940, in Cando, the daughter of Elroy and Lucille (Mooney) Michels. She was raised and graduated in Bisbee. She was united in marriage to Willard Knudson on January 5, 1958, and they made their first home in Bisbee where she stayed at home and raised their children.

In the fall she worked at the potato plant in Cando. From Bisbee they moved to Tioga where Louise worked for Tioga Air Heaters as a welder until they closed. She then went to work for The Bank of Tioga where she retired. After retirement they moved to Lake Metigoshe.

They returned to Tioga in 2007 where she took care of the love of her life until his passing in 2010. In 2012 she moved to Rugby until it became difficult for her to live on her own, then she made the move back to Tioga LTC in 2022 where she cherished her friendships that she made with the other residents and amazing staff. Louise and Willard thoroughly enjoyed camping all of their lives. Their favorite camping spot was Lake Metigoshe where they built their retirement home and enjoyed many evening pontoon rides.

Louise loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She always enjoyed watching her grandkids in all their sports and activities. She loved going to the stock car races especially when her son Dennis, Grandson Cody and Mike, Marcus and Myles Tomlinson were racing.

Some of her favorite activities included doing ceramics, embroidering, cross stitching, crocheting, and dancing. She also enjoyed crafting in her craft room that overlooked the lake. Louise was an extraordinarily strong woman of God. Her Catholic faith was very important and special to her.

Louise is survived by her children, Duane (Kristi) Knudson of Tioga, Debra (Kim) Keller of Tioga, Dianne (Brent) Bonn of Mylo, Dennis (Robin) Knudson of Williston, Don (Kristy) Knudson of Tioga and Jeanette Bursinger (Rod) of Rugby; 17 grandchildren, Cody (Lexi), Kari (Terry), Jason (Alexis), Jeremy (Nikki), Joshua (Whitney), Dustin (Tracy), Amanda (Josh), Brianne (Braden), Katie (Jon), Jessica (Eric), Lacey (Tom), Dalton, Dantae, Kyler, Kelsey (Denby), Taya (Austin), and Alyssa R; 30 great-grandchildren; sisters; Carol Tsang, Theresa Michels and Shirley Hanser; and sisters-in-law, Norene Knudson, Ruthie Knudson, Carol Knudson, and Elenora Pfeifle.
