Kristie Schrader

Kristie was born in Rugby, North Dakota, and was raised on the family farm near Fillmore.
Shortly after high school and college Kristie joined the USAF and moved to Europe where she met her future husband Tom in 1980. The two were married in Germany in 1982 and moved to Cold Lake, Alberta, in 1985 where Kristie spent several years working at Lakeland College.
In 1988 the pair settled in Comox, and it was here that Kristie began her career at North Island College where she worked for more than 30 years before retiring.
She was predeceased by her parents Ludvig and Johanna (Duchscher) Hoffert; sister-in-law Ardyce Hoffert; brother-in-law Terry Vandal. Her seven surviving siblings are: Geraldine (Wes) Weeding; Ken Hoffert; Gloria (Robert) Larson; Jim (Debora) Hoffert; Luci Vandal; Cheryl (Mike) Hahn; Mark (Susan) Hoffert.
Her husband Tom, daughter Laura, son Christopher and grandson Dax are all living in British Columbia. Kristie’s family was her greatest joy and her unconditional love for them will never fade.
Her warmth and tender kindness touched many and she was loved by all. Kristie will be forever missed and never forgotten.
A local Memorial service is being planned for July 12, 2023, at 10 a.m. at St. James Basilica, Jamestown, ND.
