Clemens David Brossart
Sept. 3, 1959 – Apr. 15, 2021
Clemens David Bros-
sart, the son of Joseph and
Margaret (Bachmeier)
Brossart was born on Sep-
tember 3, 1959 in Rugby,
North Dakota. He died
peacefully at the age of 61
years on Thursday, April
15, 2021 at his home on
Lake Metigoshe, North
Dakota.
Clem was raised on the
family farm near Barton.
He attended Little Flower
School and graduated
from Rugby High School.
After high school he went
on to farm. He was unit-
ed in marriage to Wanda
Olson on October 19,
1979 in Rugby. They
were blessed with three
children and raised their
family on their farm west
of Rugby. In 1997, he
bought his first semi and
started JAT trucking,
named after his three chil-
dren, Jodi, Ashley and
Tyler. He loved being on
the road. He continued
trucking until May of
2020. That summer, he
helped Pete Salwey with
cement work until his ill-
ness no longer allowed
him to work, which was
hard for Clem, as he al-
ways stayed busy working
on projects. Clem and
Wanda sold their farm
and moved permanently
to Lake Metigoshe in
2018. He was a member
of the Little Flower
Catholic Church, Knights
of Columbus, served on
the Justithe Council and
was active in Pierce Coun-
ty 4-H. When he wasn’t
on the road, he always
stayed busy and enjoyed
working on things, wheth-
er it be a landscaping pro-
ject, woodworking or fix-
ing whatever needed to be
fixed. He took pride in all
the things he created. He
enjoyed watching his
grandsons play hockey
and loved days spent on
the lake with family and
friends. He was the best
dad and grandpa and was
a genuinely nice man,
who dedicated his life to
help others.
