Elmer Boucher, 83, of
Rugby and formerly of
Rolette died peacefully in
his home surrounded by
his loving family, Friday,
October 30, 2020. Born
on March 21, 1937 to Al-
phee and Mary (Langevin)
Boucher in Rolette, North
Dakota, he was the young-
est of their 14 children.
Elmer married the love
of his life, Joanne Kester
June 9th, 1960 in Dun-
seith, North Dakota. They
recently celebrated their
60th wedding anniver-
sary. The entire family
was together in June of
2020 for their special day.
Together, they raised four
daughters on the family
farm near Thorne, ND,
where farming never left
his heart. Elmer was
honored to have served as
a county commissioner
and to be a part of many
boards and organizations.
The couple moved to Rug-
by in 2014. He loved to
attend his grandkids ac-
tivities, auction sales,
family reunions and the
coffee groups of many
friends that he had. His
presence and humor will
be missed by his family
and friends.
Elmer is survived by
his wife, Joanne;
daughters, Lori (Barry)
Dockter of Minot, Tami
(Larry) Neubauer of Bot-
tineau, Kari (Steve) Vitt of
Shell Knob, MO and Kristi
(Kevin) Matejcek of Brock-
et; he was a proud grand-
father to his grandchil-
dren, Tanner (Molly)
Dockter, Lacey (Mitch)
Mayer, Sara (Dwayne)
Lyons, Rob Neubauer,
Tyler (Hailey) Neubauer,
Philip Neubauer, Nathan
(Morgan) Vitt, Tim (Katie)
Vitt and Kaylene Fulling-
ton; Karlie, Kamron and
Karson Matejcek; great
grandchildren, Remy and
Tahj Lyons and Simon
Dockter; sister, Bernice
(Ray) Sauve of Bemidji,
MN; brother-in-law, Mick
(Janice) Kester;
sisters-in-law, Pennie
(Gary) Grenier and Cheryl
(Randy) Gaugler;
numerous nieces and
nephews. Elmer was pre-
ceded in death by his
parents and 12 siblings,
Marciel, Leonard, Delbert,
Adelard, Olard, Leo, Os-
car, Cordelia, Morella,
Wella, Ales and Arthur.
Due to COVID-19 there
was a private family
memorial service held on
Wednesday, Nov. 4th at
1:00 p.m. at the Anderson
Funeral Home in Rugby.

The burial, which was
open to the public was
held on Wednesday at
4:00 p.m. at Saint Edward
Cemetery near Thorne,
west of Rolette.
With the Covid19
guidelines the family re-
quests that you wear a
mask and social distance.
