Find specials – and a leprechaun – at Rugby’s Shamrock Shuffle

Rugby shoppers should be on the lookout for a leprechaun in town Thursday, March 18, according to Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Laurie Odden.
The leprechaun search is just one thing in store for visitors to Rugby businesses the day after St. Patrick’s Day. Called the “Shamrock Shuffle,” the special business event will include sales and attractions such as green drinks, coins and discounts on green items.
“We’re trying to do some things to get people to think about using our local businesses, whether that’s eating or shopping, whatever you want to do,” Odden said. “So, we’re trying to come up with something for every month.”
The night before the event, 3rd Street Station will feature corned beef and cabbage on their menu.
“(Restaurant owner) Tracy Corum says it runs out quickly, so you may want to have dinner early at 3rd Street,” Odden said.
Odden noted Daunne Heilman, owner of Wild Minds Studio, will celebrate 20 years in business that week as well. “So, she’s got some cool things she’s planning,” Odden said.
“I know Jodie Kirchofner has a special drink of the day in store at Solid Ground Cafe. I know some of the other businesses are talking about some things they’re planning to do,” Odden added.
“There’s going to be a little leprechaun traveling around town that week and if you find him, you will get a chance to be entered in a contest to win some Rugby Bucks,” Odden added. “So, this is to get people into the businesses, shopping and seeing what everyone has to offer. Most of the businesses are planning to be open their regular hours.”
“So,” Odden said, “mark your calendars for Thursday, March 18, for the Shamrock Shuffle in Rugby. We want people to shop local, eat local, support local and spend local.”
