May 9, 2026

Jon Lindseth, 74 of Rugby died December 31, 2025 in Arizona. He was born on January 25, 1951 to Archie and Marjorie (Nesbit) Lindseth in Rugby, North Dakota.

Jon was born and raised on the family’s home farm in the Silva area. He attended Silva school through the 6th grade and graduated from Rugby High School, the class of 1969. On October 17, 1969 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged on October 12, 1971. After his military service, he returned to the family farm and began his farming career. On October 25, 1972 he was united in marriage to Julieann Pieterick. Together, they made their home and raised their two boys, Eric and Aaron on the family farm near Silva. Jon was blessed to live on the farm for most of his life.

Jon and Julie began wintering in Arizona in 2000. Jon would come back to the farm during the summer months to farm or be a part of the planting and harvest season. That season was in his blood and was his life. He enjoyed playing cards, especially rummy and cribbage. He enjoyed traveling with the family, two memorable trips were taking his family to Hawaii and he and Julie going to Italy when Aaron was stationed there. Family meant everything to Jon and when he was blessed with grandkids, they became the light of his life. Jon was a quiet, humble man who enjoyed a joke, a good laugh and most of all his family who will miss him dearly.

Jon is survived by his wife of 53 years, Julieann Lindseth; sons, Eric (Susan) and Aaron (Mary); two grandsons, Lukas and David Lindseth; brothers, Charles (Davlyn) Lindseth and Rick (Denise) Lindseth; sister-in-law, Jayne Kraft; brother-in-law, Bob Pieterick; several nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Lindseth; his parents; grandparents; parents-in-law, Les and Elva Pieterick and brother-in-law, Jim Kraft.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations made in Jon’s honor/memory to the Save Silva School Program at the Prairie Village Museum in Rugby.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 16 at First Lutheran Church in Rugby.

Burial with full military honors will take place at Silva Cemetery on Saturday at 3:15 p.m.
