The Pierce County Racing Association hosted the Enduro Championship race on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Pierce County Fairgrounds.

Kyle Damm of Epping was one participant in the championship race, driving his car #4 to a fifth place finish.

“[Kyle] has been driving for one year. He always dreamed of racing since he was a kid.” Kyle Damm’s pit-crew member Jevin Damm said.

Jevin Damm said that with mechanical issues like a melted radiator belt and losing a bumper and a burn out, Kyle Damm was able to stick in the race, although his car may have been a little hot. Kyle Damm finished the race with 190 laps completed.

Greg Miller of Saskatchewan drove four hours to compete in the race and took home second place with 199 laps, Miller traveled to Rugby with no pit-crew, and said he could not believe he didn’t experience a single mechanical failure.

“I didn’t expect to finish,” Miller said.

Brandon Sailor drove the No. 3S car and placed fourth. Sailor has been racing for four years and has been driving since he was 21 years old. Sailor blew a tire around the 70th lap, but his pit-crew was able to step up, changing the tire in time to get him back on track to finish fourth.

Dustin Harper of Tioga placed first and was the only driver to make it the full 200 laps, Harper finished without any mechanical issues and has been racing for four years.

This was the first ever race for Quinten Geise of Stanley. Around lap 40 his car overheated, taking him out of the race prematurely. Geise first decided to start his racing dream this past summer and purchased his first race car. In total, Geise put over $3,000 into preparing his car and himself for the race.
