More than 40 Panther girls’ track and field athletes receive awards

Rugby High School’s girls’ track and field athletes wrapped up a successful season recently with awards and letters for more than 40 team members.

Panthers coach Bill Jansen said the athletes received the awards based on a vote held by all varsity track and field members.

Brooke Blessum and Anna Clements and Brooke Senger each received recognition for five letters earned between eighth grade and twelfth grade. Other seniors and the number of letters earned were: Sarah Blessum, two letters; Riley Grove, two letters; Elli Kuntz, two letters; Isabella McCabe, three letters; Tesha Sobolik, four letters and Lauren Voeller, three letters.

Juniors receiving letters were Brooke Anderson, two letters; Anna Duchscherer, two letters; Hannah Follman, three letters; Mya Geisinger one letter; Anna Johnson, two letters; Taylor Mayer, two letters; Rylie Suchor, four letters and Niah Wollenzien, two letters

Sophomores Peyton Hauck, Janikka Miller and Annie Risovi each earned three letters. Annette Fox, Anna Bogar and Megan Buckmeier also sophomores, received letters, with two for Fox and one each for Bogar and Buckmeier.

Freshmen receiving letters were Tressa Arnston, with one letter; Brooklyn Bartsch, two letters; Riley Bonebrake, one letter; Madison Corum, two letters; Ella Jacobson, two letters; Haylee Jundt, one letter; Haley Mayer, one letter; Harmony Moore, one letter; Lindy Radomski, one letter; Sydney Schock, one letter and Amelia Shepard, two letters.

Eighth graders Lacie Deplazes, Ashlyn Dibble, Jaclyn Duchscher, Elise Fahnestock, Rylah Hager, Tayler Hamilton and Ashley Martodam each received one letter.

Seventh graders Bostyn Bailey and Hannah Senechal also received letters for their track season.

Martodam received the Most Valuable and Leading Scorer titles for the season. The team gave Clements the Most Dedicated title for 2021. Clements was also named a team captain along with Sarah Blessum, who received the Team Motivator title from her fellow athletes. The team voted Bartsch Most Improved for the season.
