9-man football roundup

By Staff | Sep 27, 2019

Last week saw games called due to inclement weather.

However two of those games had already been well in hand.

One such game saw the St. John Woodchucks up 50-0 over the Nelson County Chargers prior to the call.

Another game saw the North Prairie Cougars not just redeem themselves from a loss the week before, but go up 32-0 over the North Star Bearcats prior to the call. The Cougars hosted the Dunseith Dragons last night, while the Bearcats traveled to Cavalier to take on the Tornadoes.

– The Benson County Wildcats couldn’t weather the storm being brought by the Tornadoes, falling 14-0 at home. The Wildcats were on the road last night, facing the North Border Eagles at Pembina.

– The Towner-Granville-Upham Titans fell 24-0 last week to the Central McLean Cougars. The Titans stayed home last night, hosting the Woodchucks.

– The Dragons snapped a three-game losing streak last week, trouncing the Four Winds Indians, 40-6.

6-man football

The Drake-Anamoose Raiders streak of taking “Ws” continued last week in a 40-6 home win over the Alexander Comets.

The Raiders have two more games down the pipe before playoffs, including a home game last night against the Midway-Minto Mustangs.
