9-man football roundup
The regions for 9-man look different this year.
Benson County, North Prairie, North Star and St. John are all in Region 2 this year, along with Dunseith, Nelson County, New Rockford-Cheyenne, Cavalier and North Border.
Towner-Granville-Upham are in Region 3 this year, along with Mohall-Lansford Sherwood, Surrey, Trenton, Ray-Powers Lake, Parshall-White Shield, Central McLean, Divide County and Lewis & Clark-Berthold.
– The TGU Titans opened up the season and regional play in a 66-8 obliteration of the Trenton Tigers last week at Trenton. The Titans hosted Divide County last night.
– The Benson County Wildcats fell 58-16 to the New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets in the Wildcats’ home opener. The Wildcats traveled to Surrey on Friday.
– The Dunseith Dragons won 30-8 over Nelson County in the Dragons’ home opener. The Dragons stayed home last night, hosting the St. John Woodchucks-who were fresh off a 32-14 win over the North Star Bearcats. The Bearcats were on the road, taking on the Rockets.
– The North Prairie Cougars got a road win to start the season, winning 38-16 over North Border. The Cougars traveled to Lakota Friday to take on Nelson County.
Raiders start 6-man season with win
The Drake-Anamoose Raiders got a win to start the 6-man football season, shutting out the Drayton Titans 51-0. The Raiders hosted the Center-Stanton Wildcats Friday.
