12U takes second at state

Bottineau’s 12U hockey team took second place at the State 12UB Gold tournament last week in Grand Forks.

In the first round of the tournament, Bottineau defeated Jamestown 7-1 to advance to the semifinals. The next day Bottineau defeated Minot 4-3 to advance to the championship.

In the championship, Bottineau fell 4-3 to Bismarck.

Bottineau team members are Ashlyn Dibble, Brooklyn Bartsch, Haley Mayer, Shilyn Jorgensen, Paige Marsden, Emma Rybchinski, Bryn Sathre, Elsa Sathre, Drew Marsden, Morgan Wittmayer, Sophie Oppen, Rebecca DeCoteau, Tallie Fedje, Haylee Jundt, Harleigh Parisien and Tana DeMontigny.

Peewees take fifth at state

Rugby’s Peewee hockey team took fifth place at the N.D. Amateur Hockey Association’s Peewee B Silver State Tournament earlier this month in Watford City.

Rugby started the tournament with a 5-4 win over West Fargo White. However, later in the day Rugby lost 5-4 to state champion Fargo Freeze Green.

Rugby rebounded the next day in a 2-1 win in overtime over Northwood.

Rugby then shut out Bismarck Gray 3-0 for fifth place.

Team members include Gavin Bartsch, Haley Mayer, Gavin Schuh, Sophie Oppen, Clifdyn Brossart, Brooklyn Bartsch, Haylee Jundt, Rylan Tofte, Wyatt Oppen, Jenner Johnson, Walker Suchor and Shanx Brossart.
