The Towner-Granville-Upham Titans started Week 6 six points ahead of the St. John Woodchucks.

The lead, which came from a 16-yard scoring run from quarterback Garrett Bailey, continued to halftime. But then Woodchucks’ senior quarterback Adam Jollie and sophomore running back Peter Houle snatched the lead away in the third quarter on a quarterback keeper and the ensuing conversion.

Houle and Jollie had another exchange that led to a score later in the quarter, with Houle running it in from 72 yards out and Jollie keeping it for the conversion.

The Titans answered one of the Woodchucks’ tuddies in the fourth quarter, with runner Shayden Luna capping the drive from 80-yards.

The Titans traveled to Maddock Friday to face the Benson County Wildcats. St. John stayed home to host the North Star Bearcats.

– The Bearcats and the Wildcats faced each other in Week 6, with the former getting a lopsided 44-13 victory over the latter at home.

Bearcats senior quarterback Keaton Kvilvang found a reliable target early in classmate and wide receiver Gavin Miller. The two connected on two scoring plays plus a conversion to put the score at 14-7 at the end of the first quarter.

After a scoreless 2nd quarter, sophomore running back Jeremiah Hill chipped in two more scores.

The Wildcats put in their second of two scores on the night with Will Rice finding Sam Hill on a 27-yard pass.

But in a later play Rice would see one of his passes get picked off by linebacker Hunter Borstad, who then carried it for an 85-yard pick six.

Borstad and Kvilvang would later connect for a 44-13 final.

– The North Prairie Cougars tied up their record so far with a 52-18 win over the Dunseith Dragons. North Prairie is on the road today, taking on the Thompson Tommies. Meanwhile the Dragons hosted North Border last night.
