Rugby top of the conference in clay league

After one week into the season, Rugby High School’s clay target team are the top shooters in Class 1A-Conference 5 in the state’s high school clay target league.

Scoring 2658 points in week 1, Rugby edged out West Fargo High by just four points to take the top spot out of seven schools (which also include Enderlin, 2348.5 points; Nedrose, 1763 points; Barnes County North, 1606.5 points; Garrison, 1598.5 points and Williston, 1399.5 points).

Seth Jaeger, who took home first prize in the varsity male division and overall high gun from the state tournament last year, shot 25 targets to reach the top of the conference for the male members. Kordell Kraft, Carson Mattern and Blair Kuhnhenn weren’t far behind, hitting 24, 23.5 and 23 targets, respectively.

Kyla Radomski, who took third in the varsity female division at state last year, hit 23.5 targets to take the top of the conference for female members. The next closest from Rugby was Amber Selensky, who hit 18.5 targets in week one.
