Braves fall to Demons
In a road game last week that was worth six points in WDA standings, the Bottineau-Rugby Braves and the Bismarck Demons had no points on the board after one period.
And then in less than two minutes, the Demons were able to put in three shots on goal while it was still early in the second period at the Capital Center Complex in Bismarck.
The Braves had a response to one of the Demons’ three goals, with Riley Olson assisting Adam Handeland at the 15:47 mark. Connor Martire then closed out the second period, putting the Demons ahead 4-1.
The Demons’ added to their lead in the next stanza, with Dain Sardelli and Caleb Petrie each netting their second of two goals apiece on the night.
The Braves’ record falls to 6-7-1 overall, and 2-6-1 in the WDA.
The Braves played a non-conference game in Boissevain Thursday and hosted Mandan on Friday. The Braves will travel to Minot on Feb. 8, and on Feb. 9 will hold senior night as they host the Bismarck Century Patriots at the Al Wentz Arena in Rugby. Game time is 7:30 p.m. for both games.
