Panthers defeat Wildcats in road opener

The Rugby Panthers girls basketball team won their first game of the season Monday evening in Leeds.

The game with the Panthers and the Benson County Wildcats was a tight and fast one. Madison Uhlenkamp scored 15 points in the fourth quarter, helping the Panthers win 50-37.

During the game, the Panthers scored 11-6 at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter followed suit with 19-16 Rugby at half time. The Panthers were five points ahead at the end of the third quarter ending at 34-29 Rugby. The fourth quarter ended at Rugby 50 and Benson County at 37.

The Panthers traveled to Harvey for the CNDC tournament, which finishes tonight. The Panthers will be on the road next week, traveling to Minot to take on the Bishop Ryan Lions.
