TRACK & FIELD: Boys win, girls finish second at Lloyd Memorial meet
The Rugby boys track team placed first at the Lloyd Memorial Track Meet on Monday, April 17.
In the 100m Dash, senior Cade Heilman placed second with a score of 11.50. Heilman also placed second in the 200m Dash with a score of 23.37.
Eighth grader Jd Matehs placed first in the 110m Hurdles, with freshman Hayden Thingvold placing second. Matehs finished with a time of 19.87, and Thingvold finished with a time of 20.01.
Sophomore Nathan Livedalen scored 18 points for Rugby, placing second in the Long Jump and first in the Triple Jump. Sophomore Shayden Luna also scored points for the team in both the Long Jump and Triple Jumps, placing third in both events to secure a total of 12 points for the team.
Junior Kaden Jaeger placed first in the Pole Vault, and junior Dustin Herold placed first in the Javelin.
Rugby placed first in the 4x100m Relay. The team consisted of Dustin Herold, Kaden Jaeger, Kade Leier and Cade Heilman. These same runners also placed first in the 4x200m Relay.
Keith Vetch, Cody Jundt, Trace Goven and Nathan Livedalen placed third in the 4x400m Relay.
John Mueller, Dawson Schepp, Warren Walker and Jacob Blessum placed second in the 4x800m Relay.
Other team members who scored points for Rugby were Kory Vetch, Jaden Hamliton, and Dj Schneibel.
Rugby girls track competed and finished in second with a total scored of 161 at the Clark and Sharon Lloyd Memorial Track Meet in Fessenden on Tuesday, April 18.
Kristina Brossart placed first in the 100m Dash with a time of 12.56 and second in the 200m Dash with a time of 27.24.
Tristin Lunde placed third in the 800m Run at 2:36.34 and third in the 1600m Run at 5:54.24.
Sara Stier placed first in the Triple Jump and second in the Long Jump. Brooke Blessum was close behind, placing second in the Triple Jump.
Maria Blessum placed first in Pole Vault, with Brooke Blessum placing second.
Maddie Uhlenkamp placed second for Rugby in Shot Put, first in Discus, and third in Javelin.
Rugby girls placed first in the 4x100m Relay, with runners Kristina Brossart, Anni Stier, Sara Stier and Maria Blessum securing the race with a total time of 53.35. They also were able to place second in the 4x200m Relay, with a time of 1:52.11.
Tristin Lunde, Brooke Senger, Callie Oppen and Emily Salwey placed third in the 4x400m Relay. Third place was also given to Rugby’s Karsyn Hager, Ellie Duchscherer, Taylor Nelson and Tristin Lunde in the 4x800m Relay.
