Thompson signs with DCB Ladyjacks
Breanna Thompson has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the Dakota College at Bottineau Ladyjacks during the 2017-18 school year.
“The Ladyjacks are very excited to welcome Breanna to the Ladyjacks program. We believe she has the potential to be a difference maker on both ends of the court,” said Ladyjacks coach Wayne Johnson. “Her defensive skills and shot blocking abilities will fill a need in the paint. Seldom do we have a player with her length and size.”
Breanna is a 6’1 center and played her high school basketball for the Rugby Panthers. As a high school junior she averaged 11 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals per game while leading the state in blocked shots with 144. As a senior Breanna led the Panthers in rebounds, blocked shots, and steals. She was selected to the All-Region 6 and All-District 12 teams in both her junior and senior years.
“We also believe she can be a major factor for us offensively,” Johnson said. “Breanna has solid fundamental moves around the basket and should fit in well with what we do offensively. We also believe Brenna brings a great attitude and work ethic to the team which will follow the example of past Ladyjacks teams. She is a great fit for the Ladyjacks both on and off the court.”
