Lady Panthers roll over Comets

Rolette-Wolford’s girls basketball team was just one point under the No.9-ranked Rugby Panthers at the end of the first quarter Tuesday evening.

It all went downhill from there in an evening of non-conference play in Rolette.

Led in scoring by sophomores Anni Stier (12 points) and Karsyn Hager (13 points), the Panthers scored 22 points in the second and 19 points in the third quarter to set up a running clock fourth and a 65-29 victory.

The Comets were led by Kinze Martinson, who scored 17 points on the night.

District 11 action

In District 11 action Tuesday evening, the Westhope-Newburg Sioux took command in a matchup with the Towner-Granville-Upham Titans and rolled ahead with Abbie Jiles (28 points on the night) for a 46-30 victory.

Velva-Sawyer held the Drake-Anamoose to single digit scores in four quarters of basketball, leading to a 58-20 win.
