Braves fall in overtime
The Bottineau-Rugby Braves had a 2-1 lead after two periods.
But that lead was soon snatched away on a third period goal last week in Bottineau.
Dylan Borseth, with an assist from Ty Gerrard, got Williston on the board first.
The Braves has a response at the 7:53 mark in the second period, with Wyatt Haakenson scoring an unassisted goal. Haakenson provided an assist for Nic Costa nearly four minutes later.
Williston then tied things up with Borseth assisting Gerrard on a goal at the 8:57 mark in the third period, which helped send the game into overtime.
Williston then clenched a last-second victory with a Ty McKechnic-Borseth connection.
The Braves lost, 4-0, to Bismarck High the next day.
The Braves are on the road this weekend, having faced Hazen-Beulah on Friday and facing Dickinson tonight. The varsity will then travel to Minot on Monday (Jan. 23) and Williston on Tuesday (Jan. 24).
