Braves net two road losses

By Staff | Jan 13, 2017

The Bottineau-Rugby Braves have been winless so far this season.

And tough matchups last week against Jamestown and Mandan didn’t help things much either.

Jamestown went for 30 shots on goal in the third period, with four of them finding the net for a 6-1 victory against the Braves.

Devin Hoffman-who had a hat-trick on the night-got Jamestown on the board first, with Cole Burkle providing the assist. The Braves would get their first and only goal of the night over eight minutes later on a Karsen Ceglowski goal-with assistance from Nic Costa and Ty Spence.

Hoffman then got his second goal in the second period, with assistance from Connor Fuchs. His third goal came late in the third period, with Burkle once again providing an assist.

The next night, Mandan was able to get three power play goals in a 7-1 victory.

The Braves were unable to get on the board until the 12:12 mark in the second act, with an unassisted goal from Costa.

Austin Leingang proved to be tough on the ice, scoring two goals in the second and one in the third period.

The Braves competed in Bottineau Friday against Williston and tonight against Bismarck. The next action sees the Braves travel to Hazen-Beulah on Jan. 20 and Dickinson the next day.
