Braves fall to Dickinson, Jamestown

The Bottineau-Rugby Braves go to 0-3 on the season after losing a pair of close ones last week on their home ice.

In Rugby, the Braves lost 4-2 against Jamestown and 3-2 against Dickinson in Bottineau.

In Rugby, Karsen Ceglowski drew first blood for the Braves, assisted by Nic Costa. Jamestown would respond in the second period with Bryce Nelson hitting the net. Jamestown then snatched the lead with the first of two Hunter Beckman goals on the night.

The Braves would tie things up in the third period with an early Wyatt Haakenson goal. Beckman fired back, and Leon Halko helped solidify Jamestown’s lead.

In Bottineau, Ryan Bren, assisted by Josh Stengel, got Dickinson on the scoreboard first. Haakenson, assisted by Jace Scherr, provided the Braves’ response around the 16:22 mark.

Bren snatched the lead on his second goal on the night, around the 12:19 mark, with teammate Tyler Kostelecky finding the net less than a minute later. Alex Hoffert, with Ceglowski providing the assist, found the net in the final minutes of the third period to put the final score at 3-2.

The Braves play in Bottineau on Dec. 16 against Hazen-Beulah, and travel to Williston the next day.
