RHS varsity volleyball loses to Velva-Sawyer

Rugby Varsity volleyball lost to Velva-Sawyer Tuesday night 3-2.

The team put up a hard fight, pushing the match to five sets. After losing the first set, RHS came back to win the next two, but faltered in the fourth round. In the fifth and final set, Velva-Sawyer defeated RHS.

Maria Blessum totaled 17 kills, three aces and 20 digs. Sara Stier came up with 12 kills and four aces. Alissa Volk scored three aces and had 15 assists. Abby Volk helped with 14 assists. Madison Uhlenkamp got eight blocks. Jacque Blessum had three blocks. Christine Vetsch came in with 27 digs.

Tuesday’s home game will be a “Pink Out”, with a free will offering bake sale and raffle prizes. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.
