Track teams finish strong at regional

Rugby High School’s track & field teams have representation at the state track meet in Bismarck this weekend.
However, they had one more meet to finish last week: the North Central Regional in Rugby.
Both the girls and boys finished the meet as a whole in first place. The girls had firsts in the 400-meter dash, 800-meter run, 300-meter hurdles, all relays, pole vault, long jump and triple jump.
The boys had first place finishes in the 100 and 200-meter dashes, 110 and 300-meter hurdles, 4×100, 4×200 and 4×400-meter relays, high jump, long jump, high jump and pole vault.
State qualifiers for the girls: Kristina Brossart (100 dash); Anni Stier (300 hurdles); Sara Stier (long jump, triple jump); Maria Blessum (pole vault); Maddie Uhlenkamp (discus).
State qualifiers for the boys: Ryan Michels (long jump, high jump); Victor Gronvold (pole vault).
