Anders Johnson delivers a pitch Monday at home against Rolette

The Rugby Panther baseball squad ended their regular season this past week. Last Thursday, May 12th, Rugby traveled to Harvey to taken on the Hornets in region play. SR Evan Burckhard led the way offensively as he was 2/3 with two RBIs and he also picked up the win on the mound.

Panthers then squared off with Washburn. The Cardinals jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the top of the first, but the Panthers responded with 6 runs of their own in the bottom half. The rally was highlighted by a Blaine Rosencrans grand slam. Rugby would go on to scored 11 unanswered runs and pick up their second victory of the day, 11-5. SR Rosencrans was 2-3 with four RBIs and two runs scored and JR Anders Johnson chipped in by going 3/3 with three runs scored and two RBIs.

On Monday, Rugby wrapped up region play as the took on Northern Lights in Rugby. NL would rally for a 5-4 victory, getting two runs in the top of the seventh after trailing by a run. WIth the loss, Panthers ended the season with a 3-5 region record and 7-11 overall record.
