Boys’ golf takes fourth

Brody Haakenson and Ben Hershey helped propel Rugby to a fourth place finish Tuesday in Harvey.

Haakenson shot a 91, while Hershey shot 92.

But region opponent and defending state champion Northern Lights still showed its competitive edge, taking first place in the tournament.

Northern Lights’ Dalton Poitra and Kyler McGillis took the top two individual spots on the tournament, shooting a 70 and a 77, respectively. Brody Cahill took fourth, shooting three strokes under Our Redeemer’s Matt Hendrickson. Benson County’s Lane Ritterman rounded out the top-5, shooting an 86.

The boys golf team competed at the Central McLean meet Friday, and travel to Bottineau Tuesday morning.
