Christenson, Foster Take Top-5 Finishes

By Staff | Apr 15, 2016

Allie Foster competes in the 5000-meter run at the Bronco Invitational at Hastings, Neb.

Hannah Christenson was one of nine on the University of Jamestown Jimmie women’s track & field team to earn a top-five finish last week at the Al Bortke Open.

Christenson, a sophomore, took third in the 400-meter dash (61.75) behind senior and teammate Rachel Heuchert.

Freshman Allie Foster took ninth in the 5000-meter run (11:25.71) at the meet.

The week before at the Bronco Invitational in Hastings, Neb., several tracksters took advantage of the weather and competition.

Foster had a personal best for the team, taking third in the 5000-run (20:08.94).

“Our whole team looked pretty red on the way home,” said Jim Clark, women’s track coach for the Jimmies. “I think the power of the sun took us by surprise we haven’t been exposed to it that much yet this year.”

The track team will be at relay competitions in Sioux City, Iowa today. The next official meet will take place Friday, April 22, at the Northern Twilight meet in Aberdeen, S.D.
