Braves Defeat Blades

The Bottineau-Rugby Braves split its games at a tournament in Wadena, Minn., last week.

The Braves needed a win after falling 8-0 to the Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines.

And a win they got against the Breckenridge, Minn.-Wahpeton Blades.

Austin Berger started the game off with an unassisted score for the Blades. The Braves soon answered back with a goal from Gabe Clements, assisted by Trace Armstrong.

Elijah Hanson and Hunter Rittenour would put up the next and last points for the Blades. A goal from David Arstein, assisted by Alex Hoffert, put the Braves to be within one point of the Blades.

The Braves then took the lead back from the Blades in the third period, with goals from Arstein and Casey Tooke.

Braves’ goalie Micah Hershey got 28 saves on the game, while Blades’ goalie Tucker Barth got 17.

The Braves played Friday in Jamestown and play again today in Mandan.
