Girls’ Winning Streak Continues
The Rugby High School girls’ basketball team continued their winning streak Monday, as the Panthers traveled to Rolla to face the Lady Bulldogs.
The Panthers beat the Lady Bulldogs, 73-20.
Three Panthers put up double digit scores on the night: junior center Breanna Thompson, 15; senior guard Shea Heidlebaugh, 15; and sophomore center Maddie Uhlenkamp, 14. Rugby also had 15 turnovers and was able to score 15 points off of turnovers; had seven second chance points; and had 23 points from players coming in off the bench. The Panthers were also 13 for 16 from the free throw line and 4 for 10 on 3’s.
Rolla was 2-12 from beyond the arc and 6-13 from the free throw line. The Bulldogs also had 20 points from their bench, and 5 second chance points. Leading in scoring for Rolla were Jensen Moberg, 5; Anne Brien 4; and Lashai Bercier 4.
The next action for the Panthers is Wednesday, Dec. 30, when they travel to the Minot State University campus to face Our Redeemer’s Christian School. B squad’s gametime is at 12:30 p.m. and varsity plays at 2 p.m.
