The Park River-Fordville-Lankin Aggies earned its number one ranking this past week a with 6-61 thrashing of the Rugby Panthers. With the Panther football team looking more like a M.A.S.H. ward unit than a football team – with key injuries to Victor Gronvold, Ryan Michels, Trevor Longie keeping them from dressing for the game, and Kade Leier lost for the game in the first-half with a high ankle sprain – they just couldn’t compete with the deeper, bigger Aggies.

Coach Scott Grochow refused to use that as an excuse when evaluating his team’s performance. Grochow, when asked his thoughts about the game stated, “Park River is a really good football team, but we can’t help them out giving them six turnovers and a snap over the putters’ head.” Coach continued, “They are number 1 for a reason, they are very good, they have all their linemen back from last year, they are just a good quality football team, but we needed to play better if we were going to have a chance.”

One of the bright spots for the Panthers was the hard running of 10th grader Kaden Jaeger, who ended the night with 104 yards on the ground.
