Darby Deckert has signed a letter of intent to play basketball for the Dakota College at Bottineau Ladyjacks for the 2015-16 school year. She is the daughter of Melissa Deckert and Randy Deckert (Rugby).

Darby is a 5’8 forward who played high school basketball for the Rugby Panthers. As a high school senior she averaged 11 points and eight rebounds per game. She averaged three assists and three steals per game. Darby was selected to the All-District 11 Team in 2014 & 2015 and as an All-Region 6 player in 2015. As a senior she received the Panthers “Hardest Worker and “Miss Defense” awards.

Coach Johnson’s comments: “Darby is a nice addition to our 2015-16 team. She is a hardworking, fundamentally sound player with great basketball savvy. She has the ability to knock down the three pointer and that is something we really value in our Ladyjacks program. We also value guards who can rebound the ball. She has been a Panther leader in rebounding her past two years. Defensively she gives us length on the perimeter which is something we seek. We most truly value her attitude and work ethic, both on the court and in the classroom. We are excited to have Darby join the Ladyjack family.”
