2015 Boys Track Team in Review
Coach and A.D. Scott Grochow shared what his aspirations are for this year’s track season. “Every year we believe we should compete for a regional title and hopefully be in the at least the top 10 and hopefully the top 5 at the state meet. Our goal every year is to get as many athletes as we can qualified for the state meet.” When the coach was asked who he thought his strong athletes are he shared the following “The following are the guys that qualified for the state meet and any places they got (there are others but these are the ones who qualified last year) Nolan Hovland: High Jump 1st, 110 Hurdles 7th, 300 Hurdles, and 4 X 400 Relay.
Victor Gronvold: Pole Vault, 300 Hurdles, 4 X 100 Relay and 4 x 200 Relay 8th. Brad Heidlebaugh: Triple Jump 2nd, Long Jump 5th, Discus 3rd, and 4 x 200 Relay 8th. Tanner Bernhardt: Long Jump 8th, Triple Jump, 4 x 200 Relay 8th and 4 x 400 Relay. Zach Miller: Triple Jump 5th, Long Jump and 4 x 400 Relay. Kade Leier: 4 x 400 Relay.
He continued by saying “This whole team has raw potential, we have a lot of other guys who I look to really come on as the year goes on.”
When asked who he felt the leaders are Coach Grochow shared with us “I think our state qualifiers and all of our Jrs. and Srs. need to be our leaders.”
All in all the Coach expects great things from this great group of young men, who will continue the strong Panther tradition in track.
