Former Bottineau-Rugby hockey players Cody Longie and Harrison Aide each registered an assist as the Bismarck Bobcats snapped a four-game skid with a 7-3 win over Brookings (S.D.) Blizzard on Nov. 1.
The Bobcats (7-10) trailed Brookings by one point in the standings after the win and remained in last place of the North American Hockey League’s Central Division.
Aide and Longie are tied with two other players for fourth on the team with eight points. Longie, a defenseman, has eight assists. Aide has three goals and five assists. Brookings won the first game of the weekend, 2-1, a night earlier.
On Oct. 30, Bismarck fell 6-4 to the Minot Minotauros. Aide and Longie assisted on the same second-period goal as both finished with a point.
In 4-2 and 5-2 losses to division leader Austin (Minn.) on Oct. 24 and Oct. 25, both former Braves were held scoreless.
The Bobcats had a home-and-away series with Brookings set for Friday and tonight. Bottineau-Rugby fans can see Aide and Longie close to home when the Bobcats visit Minot (Maysa Arena) at 7:35 p.m. on Nov. 22.
