The Rugby High School wrestling team officially put the 2013-14 season in the books with a team banquet Tuesday evening at Ely Elementary School.

RHS coach Craig Zachmeier presented four awards to his wrestlers after recognizing the team, cheerleaders, coaches, parents and support staff.

The team awarded eighth-grader Joey Berg and sophomore Spencer Koehmstedt with Most Improved award. Berg (113) finished his second year with the program with a 19-14 record. As a seventh-grader he went 10-22.

Koehmstedt (195) spent much of the season wrestling up in weight and improved with a 9-13 record. As a freshman he wrestled at 160 pounds and finished 5-23. He made his first appearance in the state tournament in February.

Junior Reid Mundahl (145) received the team’s Hardest Worker award after another strong season. Mundahl also made the state tournament and finished with a 25-20 record.

Mundahl joined classmate Bennie Mygland (152) in accepting the team’s Captain awards. Mygland also wrestled at state and finished his season at 13-12.
