Avalanche take third in State
The Bottineau 19-U Avalanche hockey team participated in the NDAHA High School State Hockey Tournament Mar. 4-6 on Bottineau ice and took third place.
The team matched up against Fargo 14-U on Friday and came away with an 8-7 win. On Saturday they hit the ice against Bismarck 14-U and lost 4-1. On Sunday they played against Crosby (had2 close losses to this team during season play)and won 2-1.
Bismarck took the title, Richland Ranger (Sidney, Mt) took 2nd place.
The girls hockey team, 19-U Avalanche consists of players from Bottineau and Rugby. Rugby’s Allison Leer, #22, plays for the Avalanche. Other players are: Erin Severson, Karlee McCloud, Bailey Neubauer, Tiffany Schuster, Morgan Klebe, Jacie Ceglowski, Sarah Lorenz, Heather Milbrath, Sonja Gilje, Shelby Pedie, Alyssa Acheson, Ashley Blue, and Taryn Thorsell. They are coached by Curt Getzlaff and Mary Blue, assistant coach. Team managers are Paula Lorenz and Tami Milbrath.
The team finishes their season with a 22-5 record .
