Titans ‘D’ to get tested
Towner-Granville-Upham’s defense may need a new pair of shoes after it faces North Star (Cando) this Friday evening, Sept. 17.
The Bearcats like to pass and that means T-G-U’s defensive backs and linebackers will be running all over the field.
North Star quarterback Jacob Hagler is coming off a six touchdown performance in the squad’s region-opening win over Benson County.
“He’s lived up to his billing (as one of the best players in the region),’ said T-G-U coach Scott Thorson.
The Titans are going to have to be wary of his passing skills and will need to get pressure on him.
T-G-U’s offense has played well in its first four games, but there is still room for improvement, according to Thorson.
“We need to be more consistent on the line,’ he said. “We have some young guys in there that are still adjusting to the position.”
Both the Bearcats and T-G-U figure to be in the playoff hunt, so this week’s game is key.
