Rolla-Rock Lake jumped out to a 19-2 first quarter and rolled to a 59-31 win over No. 6 Rolette-Wolford in the first round of the District 8 girls basketball tournament in Cando on Feb. 11.

The Bulldogs stretched its lead to 33-9 at halftime. R-W played much better in the second half, but the deficit was too much to overcome. The loss was the third to R-RL this season for the Comets.

Macy Martinson and Allison Slaubaugh each had eight points for R-W.

The loss dropped R-W to a loser-out game on Feb. 12 against No. 7 St. John

Rolla-Rock Lake, meanwhile, moved into a semifinal game against No. 2 Minn.-Leeds.
