T-G-U waiting for a playoff opponent

By Staff | Oct 9, 2009

Towner-Granville-Upham knows it will be traveling somewhere for its first round of the 9-man playoff game, but just where it will be headed hinges on the outcome of this Tuesday’s, Oct. 13 region game between St. John and North Star (Cando).

The Titans, which wrapped up their regular season on Friday, Oct. 9, will finish either third or fourth in Region 4. A St. John win and the Titans will be third; a North Star win and the Titans would fall to fourth.

T-G-U will have a week and a half to rest and prepare for its playoff game to be played on Oct. 20. The team will likely be playing in Washburn or Mohall. T-G-U last won a road playoff game in 2002.

Another win for BC

Winning is contagious. Benson County proved that by winning for the second straight week. The Wildcats rolled to a 52-0 road win at Four Winds on Oct. 2. The team posted a season-high for points scored.

The win improved BC’s overall record to 2-4.

The Wildcats will wrap up their season this Tuesday, Oct. 13 when they host Dunseith in Leeds at 7 p.m.
