Morlock claims second B-Mod feature win

By Staff | Jun 16, 2009

B-Modified driver Jim Morlock picked up his second feature win in three tries, in an evening of racing the Geographical Center Speedway that saw a number of cars fail to finish feature events.

Morlock, from Pettibone, finished ahead of Scott Bintz of Jamestown. Jason Halverson of Devils Lake was third. Eleven cars started the 20-lap feature, but only five finished.

Tim McCloud became the third feature winner in the IMCA Stocks division. The Belcourt drive held off Matthew Hamilton, Minot. Bob Fuegman of Minot was third.

Like the B-Mod feature, there was a handful of drivers, who also didn’t finish. Ten started the race, but just six finished.

In the Pure Stocks, Mark LeMay won the feature, becoming the third different driver in three events to claim victory. Jason Thoms, who won on May 23, was second and Brad Fritel, who captured the season-opening feature was third.

Despite a cool evening, a decent crowd of about 200 was on hand on June 5 for the third program of the season. Races were delayed for about 45 minutes due to a wet track.
