Henderson captures second feature win at GCS

Two features, two victories for IMCA Stocks driver Kelly Henderson.

The veteran driver from Minot held off Chad Strachen for a second straight win at Rugby’s Geographical Center Speedway (GCS) on May 22.

Rugby’s Tyler Dosch was third while Minot’s Jason Kniffen and Westhope’s Robbie Conway was fifth.

In the Midwest Modifieds, Jamestown’s Ryan Mikkelson won the feature. Jim Morlock, from Pettibone, and who won the season-opening feature, was runner-up. Scott Bintz of Jamestown was third. Devils Lake’s Jared Halverson was fourth and Norm Reitan of Bottineau was fifth. Rugby’s Kelly Bonn was sixth and Josh Sattler, Willow City, was eighth.

In the Sport Stocks, Jamestown’s Jason Thoms won the feature. Rugby’s Brad Fritel was second. Carrington’s Brenton Wiez was third; Mike LeMay of Westhope was fourth; and Tyson Page of Bottineau was fifth. Rugby drivers Jay Loughman and Katelyn Hermanson were seventh and eighth respectively. Tony Koble, also of Rugby, did not finish.

The third racing program will be this Friday, June 5, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Pierce County Fairgrounds.
