Rugby wrestlers ready to return to the mat
It’s been two weeks since Rugby’s wrestlers last competed in a tournament, but the Panthers haven’t been sitting around during that stretch.
The squad practiced all last week, despite no school, and will resume after-school practices this week preparing for the New Town Tournament on Jan. 10.
It’s the start of what will be a busy month that features two tournaments, including one at home, and five duals, to wrap up the regular season.
The break did come at a good time for some wrestlers nursing injuries, but the squad is ready to resume its schedule.
Rugby coach Ken Higbee hopes his team can continue to make progress leading up to postseason tournaments.
