HOVLAND BREAKS RECORD IN PRELIMS
Earlier this month at the NDSU Tune-Up, UND junior Aubrey Hovland landed one of the top high jumps in school history.
Hovland had a preliminary round leap of 5 feet, 5 1/4 inches, tying her for fourth in Big Sky Conference rankings, as well as ranking 10th all time at UND.
JIMMIE WOMEN CLAIM NORTH STAR TITLES
With Keary Stanger, Rebecca Opoulos and Rachel Heuchert, Hannah Christenson helped secure a title for the University of Jamestown’s women’s 1,600-meter relay.
Relays were a high point at the three-day North Star Athletic Association championships, especially the 4×400-meter relay, with Christenson, Opoulos, Kaiann Arellano and Bre Carlson finishing first with a 51.06 time.
“Hannah opened up with a 61.5 and the outcome was sealed,” Clark said.
Christenson also took third in the 400-meter dash and sixth in the 200-meter dash.
According to coach Jim Clark, Allie Foster ran a solid second leg in the 4×800-meter relay; and ran career best times in the 1500-meter and 5000-meter runs.
JIMMIE WOMEN MAKE DEAN’S LIST
Eighteen women on the University of Jamestown women’s track & field team made the Dean’s List this semester, with half getting a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
