Luna, Thorp named all-state at QB, WR
A pair of TGU seniors were named to the 9-Man All-State football team late last month.
Quarterback Eli Luna and wide receiver Colter Thorp joined 10 other players on the first team, as selected by the North Dakota High School Coaches Association.
Luna finished a remarkable career as both a rusher and passer. He was an all-state selection at defensive back as a junior.
“Both Colter and Eli have been in our starting lineups for three years,” TGU coach Scott Thorson said. “They have been very effective players for three years as well. They have been exposed to a lot of opponents in that time. With that being said, there are a lot of coaches in the state that have seen these two play and have had to prepare for playing against them.”
Luna finished the year with 1,697 rushing yards with 21 touchdowns and 1,900 passing yards with 26 touchdowns. Thorp caught 16 touchdowns to go with 984 yards on 49 receptions.
