Bobcats take 2 of 3 from Brookings
Former Bottineau-Rugby hockey player Harrison Aide recorded two assists for the Bismarck Bobcats in a three-game stretch against Brookings (S.D.)?Blizzard.
The Bobcats swept their Central Division foes to the south in a home-and-away series Nov. 7 and Nov. 8.
Bismarck won the first game 3-0 and Aide assisted Cole Souto on a third period goal. Aide had three shots on the night and finished +1.
The next night, the Bobcats picked up their third consecutive win over Brookings in a 4-1 victory on the road. Aide had two shots and former B-R standout Cody Longie finished +1 with a shot.
The teams met again Tuesday in the fifth straight meeting of the season.
The Blizzard (7-8-3) picked up their second win against Bismarck in a 4-3 battle. Aide finished -1 with one shot and Longie was inactive. Bismarck led 2-1 going into the third period, but the Blizzard found the net three times for the win.
Heading into this weekend’s action Bismarck held a 18-17 point advantage over last-place Brookings in the division standings. Minot (12-5-2) led the division with 26 points, followed by Austin (Minn.) and Aberdeen (S.D.) ahead of Bismarck.
Through 19 appearances, Aide has nine points (3 g, 6 a). The defenseman Longie has seven assists for all his points.
Bottineau-Rugby fans can see the former Braves on Nov. 22 against Minot at Maysa Arena. The puck drops at 7:35 p.m.
