Comets best Titans 46-43

Senior Rae Beaver and sophomore Lexy Wittmayer scored 14 points apiece to lead Rolette-Wolford to a comeback win at TGU on Feb. 22.

The Titans led by four points after each of the first three quarters, but the Comets outscored the home team 16-9 in the final frame.

Mattie Schmitt and Angie Anderson had 14 and 10, respectively, for TGU (15-4). R-W improved to 14-5. No. 1 seed TGU opened the District 11 tournament against No. 8 seed Drake-Anamoose on Friday. R-W, the No. 4 seed in District 8, started its postseason against No. 5 Langdon on Friday.

The Comets beat another District 11 team at the tail end of the regular season with a 53-33 rout of Dunseith. Beaver scored a game-high 25 points against the Dragons and Wittmayer added 11.

Benson County is the No. 3 seed in the District 8 tournament and opened against No. 6 seed Munich-Starkweather on Friday. The Wildcats beat Midkota-Kensal 63-48 to close the regular season on Feb 22.. Annie Jorgenson led three BC players in double figures with 18 points. Taylor Bisbee scored 16 and Kaylee Lybeck had 12.

On Feb. 21, the Wildcats lost 53-44 to Four Winds-Minnewaukan.
