The Rugby Public School District #5 School Board met Tuesday to discuss membership in the North Central Area Career and Technology Center (NCACTC).
The NCACTC provides career and technical education to high school students in the north central area of North Dakota. There are currently 12 member schools in NCACTC. Three schools have recently decided not to remain members, however.
Rugby school board members contemplated options including voting to dissolve the program, discontinuing membership in the program, and staying in the program. With the absence of other school members in the program, it is possible that membership fees would increase. These fees are currently costing the district $6,000 per year.
The board will make a final decision regarding the district's membership in the program after the NCACTC meeting later this month.
