13th annual North Central Dakota Ag Show a success

The 2017 North Central Dakota Ag Show was held Friday, February 3 in Rugby.

Usually held the first Friday in February, the day kicked off at 10 a.m. with open displays and registration. In its 13th year, the show included 40 total exhibitors. Exhibitors were ADM Processing, B & J Excavating, Brase Drilling, Bremer Bank, Butler Machinery Company, CA Seeds Thunder Seed, CHS Hedging/Russell Consulting Group, Central Crop Consulting, Comp Cam, Deplazes Redi-Mix and Construction, Envision, Farm Credit Services, Farm Service Agency/NRCS, Farmers Union Elevator, First International Bank and Trust, Goldade Financial Services, Gooseneck Implement, Heartland Buildings, Ideal Seed Solutions, Ironhide, KZZJ/KKWZ, Lautt's Feed and Rental, Merchants Bank, MJ McGuire's, Nachurs Alpine Solutions, NDSU Extension Service, NoDak Security, North Central Ag, North Star Community Credit Union, Northern Equipment, NuLine Insurance, Pifers Auction Reality, Pioneer Seeds, Precision Ag Results Inc., Primetime Electric, Rugby Chamber of Commerce, Rugby FFA, Rugby Electric, Rugby Homes and RV Center, and True Balance.

Red River Farm Network Broadcasting put on a presentation during the day, followed by Steve Link and Dwight Hofland. Pifers Land Management Program, as well as "Land Value Trends Land Rent and Market Analysis" were also featured presentations.

After the show's closing, a social was held at the Rugby Eagles Club, sponsored by North Central Ag Levi Heisler. The Rugby Chamber of Commerce held a Farmers Appreciation Supper, also at the Rugby Eagles, followed by Jerry Frasier, Comic Magician.

Registrants were entered to win iDesign's "Take It Easy Summer Get Away" package, which included items valued at $900.

Show sponsors included Rugby Broadcasters, Inc., Red River Farm Network Broadcasting, Rugby Chamber of Commerce, and Pepsi.

The Ag Show committee included Tanner Johnson of First International Bank and Trust, Pete Burgard of Merchants Bank, and Jacob Nelson of Bremer Bank, among others.

Schneider Aerial Spraying and Cenex provided coffee and cookies. Pepsi Cola of Bottineau provided Pepsi products.
