Retired doctor supports school bond
Hubert Seiler, M.D., Rugby
To the People of Rugby:
I have lived in the Rugby school district for over 48 years. I have tried to stay involved in the institutions and issues of concern within the community. I am writing in support of the upcoming school bond referendum.
My children attended all of their school years in the Rugby school system. They turned out to be excellent students and citizens. I spent plenty of time in the grade school complex and saw some of the deficiencies. Some of these were corrected, but some have not. Space was always tight. Delaying needed updates only pushes the need down the road and increases the costs.
The needs of future students will be difficult to meet within the current structure. There is an increased need for tech and STEM class areas, even at the grade school level. The special needs students are being approached differently, with more specialized areas needed. The lunchroom area is crowded, as are the band/music areas.
I encourage the citizens of Rugby to vote YES on the upcoming bond issue.
