Lingerfelt: What I Will Remember Most About Rugby

By Staff | Nov 6, 2015

Dear Editor,

As Jenny and I prepare for this new chapter in our life I wanted to say what a privilege it has been for us to live and work in Rugby. Someone recently asked me, “What will you remember most about your time in Rugby?” Several thoughts immediately came to mind.

– A gas station that still pumps your gas, cleans your windows and greets you with a smile

(thanks Gil and the guys)

– Local businesses that support the hospital, every year that we’ve lived here the annual “Creations Auction and Golf Tournament have exceeded the prior year’s giving

– Dedicated health professionals that daily strive to give excellent care in a compassionate manner

– Ice fishing

– Bremer Bank, their foundation donated close $200,000 to the hospital in the last five years

– A supportive and dedicated Board of Directors at the Heart of America Medical Center that were committed to quality and keeping health care local as far as possible

– A state championship boys basketball team

– Big farms

– Dedicated volunteers that donated thousands of hours to HAMC and always seemed to be smiling

– Lefse, knoephla soup, lutefisk

– Snow in May, snow in October

– Kind friends and neighbors

– The “northern lights”

We will look back with fond memories of our time in this wonderful community and pray God’s blessings for all the wonderful people that call Rugby home.

Sincerely,

Jeff Lingerfelt
